Editorial policy
How Slobber & Wags decides what to publish and recommend.
Independence
We pick products for the job they do and the conditions they are used in, such as West Coast rain, salted winter sidewalks and car trips with a wet dog. Advertisers and any affiliate programs never decide what we recommend or how we rank it. Display ads are sold and placed by Google AdSense, not negotiated with us by brands.
Sourcing
Every factual claim in a guide, such as a spec, a price, a rule or a number, comes from a page we read, and we link it. If we can’t verify something, we leave it out. Prices are in Canadian dollars and carry the date we checked them, because they change.
Testing and experience
Unless a guide says otherwise, we have not tested the products it covers. Our guides are comparisons built from makers’ pages, retailer listings and owners’ reviews, and each says so in its disclosure. We never describe hands-on experience we don’t have.
Health topics
We don’t publish veterinary or medical advice. Where a cost, product or rule touches health, we describe only the product or the cost, and point you to your veterinarian for any health question.
Corrections
If something is wrong or out of date, tell us through the contact page or at [email protected]. We correct errors in place and update the “Updated” date on the article.
